The HPE Aruba Networking 9004-LTE (US) is the US model of the 9000 Series branch gateway with built-in LTE. It is intended for distributed enterprises that want SD-WAN, routing, security, LAN and Wi-Fi control in one compact desktop appliance. The gateway has four 100/1000BASE-T ports and an integrated Cat 12 LTE module. The LTE link can act as the primary WAN at a site without wired service or as a redundant uplink that carries traffic when the main circuit drops. LTE operation is managed from HPE Aruba Networking Central. On the security side, the built-in Layer 4-7 stateful policy enforcement firewall applies consistent user, device and application awareness across WLAN, LAN and WAN. - Dynamic Segmentation assigns role-based policies automatically, replacing static VLANs, ACLs and subnets. - Deep packet inspection evaluates performance and usage policies for more than 3,800 applications. - In SD-WAN mode, the gateway adds role- and identity-based IDS/IPS and one-click integration with third-party cloud security services. The gateway supports up to 2,048 users or client devices and up to 6 Gbps of firewall throughput. Redundancy, clustering and live upgrades support high availability. It can run as an SD-Branch gateway or be repurposed as a mobility controller for WLAN and LAN services, but not both at the same time. Deployment is designed for sites with little or no local IT. Zero-touch provisioning and a mobile installer app let on-site staff onboard the unit while central IT confirms location, licensing and status. The gateway supports WLAN and SD-WAN deployments with HPE Aruba Networking Central subscription licenses. It runs on a 12 V DC, 2.5 A adapter and draws a maximum of 25 W including USB. It is fanless for desktop placement, and an optional rack tray is available.
