The 13-inch iPad Air (M4) is Apple's large-screen iPad Air for professionals, field teams and creators who need a capable tablet that stays connected away from Wi-Fi. This configuration, Apple part MH9F4LL/A, is the US Wi-Fi + Cellular model with 128GB of storage in Starlight. The M4 chip combines an 8-core CPU (3 performance and 5 efficiency cores) with a 9-core GPU that supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, a 16-core Neural Engine, 120GB/s memory bandwidth and 12GB of unified memory. Apple rates the GPU at up to 60% faster graphics performance than M1, and the chip is built for Apple Intelligence. The Liquid Retina display runs at 2732 by 2048 pixels at 264 ppi, with P3 wide color, True Tone, an antireflective coating and 600 nits brightness, and it supports Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C) and Apple Pencil hover. For connectivity, the Apple C1X cellular modem provides 5G (sub-6 GHz) and Gigabit LTE, both with 4x4 MIMO, across a wide set of 5G NR and LTE bands. Service is activated through eSIM only; the device does not accept physical SIM cards. Cellular service is data only, with Wi-Fi calling and the ability to relay calls from a nearby iPhone. The Apple N1 wireless chip adds Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with 2x2 MIMO, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, and cellular models include GPS/GNSS. The USB-C port handles charging, USB 3 transfers up to 10Gb/s and DisplayPort output to one external display at up to 6K and 60Hz. A 36.59-watt-hour battery is rated for up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi or video playback, or up to 9 hours on cellular. Touch ID in the top button, 12MP front and rear cameras with Center Stage on the front, and landscape stereo speakers complete a tablet suited to mobile work, presentations and creative projects.
