Extend a Brocade 10 Gigabit Ethernet link across single-mode fiber while using one strand rather than a conventional two-fiber duplex path. The AddOn Networks SFP-10GB-BXU23-10-I-BR-AO is a Brocade-compatible, TAA-compliant 10GBASE-BX SFP+ transceiver for ports that accept SFP+ optics. Its compact hot-pluggable format supports optical changes or replacement without removing the host device from service. 10GBASE-BX uses bidirectional optical signaling, separating transmit and receive traffic by wavelength over a simplex single-mode connection. This transceiver uses the BX-U optical direction, transmitting at 1270 nm and receiving at 1330 nm. Install it with a complementary BX-D optic at the far end of the fiber link; matching BX directions will not establish the required bidirectional optical pair. The simplex LC optical interface suits existing single-fiber infrastructure and fiber runs where a second strand is unavailable or reserved. The -I designation identifies an industrial-temperature version for installations exposed to wider ambient conditions than climate-controlled data rooms.
